Kadala Curry (Kala Channa)

Kadala Curry or Kala Channa Curry is a nutritious vegetarian side dish that goes well with idiyappam, appam, dosa, roti or even rice. The delicious dish is very easy to prepare with minimal ingredients. Kadala Curry (Kala Channa) is unique and special with cooked healthy pulse blended in thick spicy gravy. Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Kadala kala channa
  • 1/4 cup Shallots cut into small slices, kochulli
  • 1 no Tomato
  • 3 tsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Red Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 spring Curry leaves
  • Salt As reqd
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Kadala Curry (Kala Channa), soak Kadala in water, till soft.
  • Pressure cook it with little water and salt.
  • Heat a drop of oil in a pan.
  • Put coriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala and turmeric powder and fry it for 1 min.
  • Take some cooked kadala and grind it with fried items.
  • Heat a drop of oil in a pan add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add shallots and fry.
  • Add remaining Cooked kadala and pour some water.
  • Add the tomato.
  • Add the ground mix and close the lid and allow it to boil
  • :- Serve Kadala Curry (Kala Channa) hot!!!
