Heat a kadai and add the oil.
Add the bitter gourd pieces and sautT well .
Cook the bitter gourd pieces on low flame with a closed lid( no need to add water).
Take another frying pan and fry the grated coconut, shallots, coriander seeds and red chillies, till brown.
Make a thick paste by grinding all the fried ingredients (use a little water).
6)Heat oil in a kadai and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Add the ground coconut paste, tamarind water, salt, pour 1 cup water and stir it well.
Add the cooked bitter gourd pieces and stir well.
Cook for 10 minutes on low flame till the gravy thickens.
