Kerala Jeeraka Kanji

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 - Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 1 no Garlic pod optional
  • Salt As reqd
  • Water As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Grind together jeerakam, coconut and garlic with a little water. Keep aside.
  • In a pressure cooker, add washed basmati rice, ground jeerakam and coconut paste.
  • Pour water as required and salt into it.
  • Cook for 5 minutes.
  • :- Do not let the pressure cooker to whistle.
  • Keep out of flame for another 5 minutes.
  • Mix well before use.
  • :- Serve hot.
