Microwaved Bittergourd Fry

Microwaved Bittergourd (Pavakka) fry

Ingredients
  

  • 5 - Bittergourd Remember it is going to shrink so take more bittergourds if required
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • Pepper A pinch, powder/crushed

Instructions
 

  • Clean the bittergourd and take out the rough skin and edges from it.
  • Make a slit along the length and take out the seeds and clean the insides.
  • Cut the bittergourd as round thin circles (not very thin).
  • Add all the ingredients specified other than the bittergourd to water to make a thick paste.
  • Marinate the bittergourd with this paste and leave for an hour atleast or more.
  • Take a microwavable plate (I usually use a pyrex pie pan) and spray/rub some oil on the pan.
  • Layer the bittergourd pieces on the plate and microwave for 20 - 30 minutes or more depending on how crispy you want it.
  • :- Remember to keep checking the pieces every 10 min or so to make sure all pieces are cooked evenly.
  • :- Your pavakya fry is ready with very very less oil. !!!!
