Tasty Konju(Shrimp) Thoran

A very tasty Shrimp item with all flavours of Kerala.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb Shrimps Konju
  • 1/2 cup small red onions cut in half or quarters , Kunjulli
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Salt As reqd

*You can make ur own garam masala too by grinding together the following:-

  • 5 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • 5 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 5 nos Aniseeds Perinjeerakam
  • Cinnamon(Karugapatta)
  • Nutmeg etc

Instructions
 

  • Clean the shrimp and if you want u cut the shrimp into halves dep on the size of the shrimp.
  • To the shrimp, add the ingredients mentioned for cooking and cook the shrimp with red onions and all ingredients for say 15 - 20 mins.
  • Meanwhile, grind the ingredients mentioned for the gravy in a blender and keep aside.
  • Once the shrimp is cooked and the gravy is made, add the dry gravy to the cooked shrimp and let the shrimp cook slow in this dry gravy for 5 - 10 more minutes.
  • :- Once you feel that the shrimp is cooked well and the masala is well absorbed in
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and saute with red chillies and curry leaves.
  • Add the saute to the cooked shrimp - dry gravy and you are done.
  • NJOY !!!!!!
