Instructions
Heat oil in a pan.
Add asafoetida and splutter mustard seeds.
Add red chillies and curry leaves and saute.
Place the washed rice and daal followed by water in a pressure cooker.
Add salt and the seasoning into the cooker and mix well.
Keep the above mixed rice in the cooker for 4 whistles.
After 4 whistles, take the pongal out.
Pour ghee on top.
:- Serve hot with the sambaar.
