Bread Pudding - American Style

Its a easy pudding to make at home...

Ingredients
  

  • 6 nos White bread slices
  • 2 nos Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup Raisins Onakkamunthiri/Kismis
  • 6 nos Cashewnuts
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon powder Karugapatta
  • ½ tsp Nutmeg powder Jathikka

Instructions
 

  • Trim off the hardcrust from the sides of bread slices and apply butter only on one side.
  • Take a baking tray and arrange the slices with buttered sides up.
  • Heat milk.
  • Add sugar and stir till the sugar get dissolves. Remove from stove.
  • Break eggs and beat nicely. Add this to milk and mix.
  • Add vanilla essence, cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder.
  • Sprinkle kismis and cashewnuts chopped over the bread pieces.
  • Pour milk mixture over the bread using a strainer.
  • Preheat the oven for 10 mins at 180ªC.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 mins or till the top is browned.
  • :- Serve hot.
