Kozhukkatta

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Rice powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder optional
  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  • Salt As reqd
  • Water for boiling and mixing

For seasoning:-

  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 nos Dry red chillis Kollamulaku
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Crush the cumin seeds with a rolling pin.
  • Mix together rice powder, cumin seeds, cumin powder and coconut adding water to the constituency of a chapati dough.
  • :- Add water slowly , because the dough should be thick.
  • Make oval shaped balls with hand.
  • Heat water (5 cups) in a large pan.
  • When it starts boiling, drop the balls into the water.
  • :- You can reduce the heat little bit after dropping all the balls.
  • After 20 mins, remove kozhukkattas from water.
  • :- Serve with chutney.
  • :- You can also serve in another way. Cut each kozhukkattas into small pieces. Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds, dry red chillies,curry leaves. Add kozhukkata pieces and saute for 5 seconds. Turn off the heat and then serve.
