Ingredients
  

  • 800 gm Dressed chicken
  • 15 nos Kashmire chillies
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 2 pieces Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 4 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 3 - Garlic pods
  • 2 nos Onion chopped, big
  • 10 nos Cashew nuts
  • 1 tsp Raisins Onakkamunthiri/Kismis
  • 1 no Tomato chopped, big
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder

Instructions
 

  • Cut the dressed chicken into big pieces.
  • Apply salt and turmeric onto it and keep for 1 hour.
  • Grind together kashmiri chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pepper, cinnamon and cloves.
  • Grind together ginger and garlic to a paste.
  • Grind cashew nuts and kismis separately.
  • Heat kadai and pour oil.
  • Fry the chicken pieces without overdoing it.
  • Take out the pieces and keep aside.
  • In the remaining oil, fry the chopped onion till golden brown.
  • Add ginger - garlic paste and spray some water.
  • When it cooks well and the smell comes, add the ground masala.
  • Stir well and spray water if it sticks to the pan.
  • When it starts browning and oil separates, add tomato and cook well.
  • Add fried chicken pieces, salt as per requirement and 2 cups of water.
  • Close the vessel and cook well.
  • When chicken is cooked, add cashew- kismis paste in 1 tbsp of water.
  • Mix well and remove from fire.
  • Can be decorated with french fries and chopped boiled egg.
