10 Minutes Veg Biryani | Vegetable Biryani

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Glasses Basmati rice
  • Vegetables: Green peas, Beans, Carrot, Cauliflower As reqd
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 no. Onion Medium(Sliced)
  • 1 no. Tomato Chopped
  • 8 nos. Green chillies Chopped
  • Garlic Cloves Few(Crushed)
  • Ginger A small piece(Crushed)
  • Garam masala powder As reqd, otherwise patta, grambu, bay leaves
  • Red chilly powder As reqd
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • Coriander leaves Few
  • Cashew nuts As reqd
  • Raisins As reqd, Unakka munthiri
  • 2 nos Hard boiled eggs Cut in half for garnishing(Optional)

Instructions
 

  • Soak rice in water for 1 hour.
  • Drain and keep it aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
  • Add onion, garlic and ginger and fry well.
  • Add all masala powders: red chilly powder, turmeric and garam masala powder and saute well.
  • Add green chillies and tomato and saute.
  • Add all vegetables and fry well.
  • Add rice and fry for 5 mins.
  • Add 5 glasses of water and salt.
  • Close the pressure cooker with the lid.
  • When the steam starts to come straight from the nozzle, put the whistle on and switch off the gas.
  • Open the lid after 10 mins.
  • Add coriander leaves.
  • Sprinkle cashews and raisins fried in ghee.
  • Garnish with split hard boiled eggs.(Optional)
