North Indian Simple Tomato Rice
A variety rice cooked in tomato puree
Ingredients
Instructions
- Wash and soak the basmati rice in water for 15 - 20 mins.
- Slice the onion and green chillies.
- Put the tomatoes in the boiling water. Close it for 5 mins, peel and grind it to a fine paste.
- Season spices.
- Add chopped onion and fry till golden brown.
- Add the chopped coriander and mint to it and fry for few secs.
- Add rice and saute for a min.
- Add the tomato puree in 1:1 1/2 cup ratio.
- When it starts to boil, add salt and stir once.
- Pressure cook for 1 whistle.
