Grind together half of sliced onions, ginger, garlic, coriander powder, red chillies and peppercorns into a fine paste.
Marinate the chicken pieces with the above masala along with salt for 1 hr.
Pressure cook the marinated chicken upto 1 whistle.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Add cinnamon and cloves and stir for a few secs.
Add the remaining onions and saute, till they become soft.
Add turmeric powder followed by tomatoes and saute, till it becomes pulpy.
Add the cooked chicken and mix well.
Cook, till the gravy thickens.
