Konchu Thoran

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm Prawns
  • 1 no Onion sliced
  • 2" piece Ginger crushed
  • 10 nos Garlic pods crushed
  • 3 nos Green chillies crushed
  • 2 cups Grated coconut
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Curry leaves A few

Instructions
 

  • Clean the prawns.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Add onion and saute well.
  • Add ginger, garlic and green chillies and saute for 2 - 3 mins.
  • Add prawns, curry leaves and salt.
  • Cover and cook on a low flame for 10 mins.
  • :- Do not let the water dry up completely.
  • Grind together coconut, turmeric powder, chilly powder and garam masala powder.
  • Add the above mixture along with a few curry leaves into the cooked prawns and mix well.
  • Stir continuously, until water dries up completely and a nice aroma comes.
  • :- Serve hot.
