Biryani - Marinated Chicken Biryani(Kozhi Biryani)

Ingredients
  

  • Ingredients for Biryani
  • Chicken(cleaned and cut into small pieces)
  • 3 nos Onion big
  • 1" piece Ginger
  • 6 nos Garlic pods
  • 1 tbsp Poppy seeds Khashakhasha
  • Mint leaves A bunch, Pudhina
  • Coriander leaves A bunch
  • Curry leaves A bunch
  • 4 cups Yoghurt/Curd
  • Salt As reqd
  • 3 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 a Lime juice
  • 3 cups Basmati rice
  • Cashew nuts As reqd
  • Oil As reqd
  • Saffron A few strands
  • 4 - Milk

Instructions
 

  • Preparation Method for Biryani 1)Soak basmati rice for 20 mins.
  • Grind together garlic, ginger and poppy seeds into a fine paste.
  • Grind together mint leaves, coriander leaves and curry leaves into a fine paste.
  • Take a vessel and place the chicken in it.
  • Add salt, the above pastes, curd, lime juice and garam masala.
  • Mix it well and marinate it for 1 hr.
  • Grind cashews into a fine paste.
  • Cut onions in rings and fry them, until they are golden brown.
  • Place the above fried onions in a separate bowl.
  • Cook basmati rice by adding water to it separately in a vessel.
  • :- Keep in mind that rice must be cooked 3/4th only.
  • Heat oil in the same pan used for frying onions.
  • Add some fried onions, cashews paste and the marinated chicken.
  • Cook, until it is done.
  • Take a big vessel and place one layer of rice followed by chicken and onions.
  • Sprinkle the saffron milk.
  • Continue this, until it is done.
  • Place the vessel on stove and cook for 10 mins on a low flame.
  • :- Biryani is ready.
