- Ingredients for Biryani -
- Chicken(cleaned and cut into small pieces) -
- Onion(big) - 3 nos
- Ginger - 1" piece
- Garlic pods - 6 nos
- Poppy seeds(Khashakhasha) - 1 tbsp
- Mint leaves(A bunch, Pudhina) -
- Coriander leaves(A bunch) -
- Curry leaves(A bunch) -
- Yoghurt/curd - 4 cups
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Garam masala - 3 tsp
- Lime juice - 1/2 a
- Basmati rice - 3 cups
- Cashew nuts(As reqd) -
- Oil(As reqd) -
- Saffron(A few strands) -
- Milk - 4 -

Instructions
- Preparation Method for Biryani 1)Soak basmati rice for 20 mins.
- Grind together garlic, ginger and poppy seeds into a fine paste.
- Grind together mint leaves, coriander leaves and curry leaves into a fine paste.
- Take a vessel and place the chicken in it.
- Add salt, the above pastes, curd, lime juice and garam masala.
- Mix it well and marinate it for 1 hr.
- Grind cashews into a fine paste.
- Cut onions in rings and fry them, until they are golden brown.
- Place the above fried onions in a separate bowl.
- Cook basmati rice by adding water to it separately in a vessel.
- :- Keep in mind that rice must be cooked 3/4th only.
- Heat oil in the same pan used for frying onions.
- Add some fried onions, cashews paste and the marinated chicken.
- Cook, until it is done.
- Take a big vessel and place one layer of rice followed by chicken and onions.
- Continue this, until it is done.
- Place the vessel on stove and cook for 10 mins on a low flame.
- :- Biryani is ready.
