Chettinad Pepper Chicken Easy

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Chicken
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 2 sticks Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 4 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 2 nos Onion finely chopped
  • 1 no Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • For Masala:
  • 2" piece Ginger
  • 5 nos Garlic pods
  • 2 tbsp Pepper
  • 3 nos Dry red chillies Kollamulaku
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds Perinjeerakam
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam

Instructions
 

  • Fry the ingredients for masala and grind it to a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a big pan or a pressure cooker.
  • Add cinnamon, cloves and chopped onions and saute, till the onions turn golden brown.
  • Add turmeric powder.
  • Add chicken and ground masala and saute for 5 mins.
  • Add tomato and salt.
  • Add water and pressure cook it for 10 - 15 mins.
  • :- If you are cooking in a pan, cook, till chicken is tender.
  • :- Serve hot with rice or chappathis.
