Vengaya Kuzhambu

Small onions(Kunjulli) curry

Ingredients
  

  • 15 nos Pearl onions sliced, Kunjulli
  • 6 nos Garlic pods sliced
  • 2 nos Green chillies
  • 2 nos Tomato
  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp Coriander powder
  • Tamarind size of small lemon, Puli

For seasoning:

  • 1 tsp Coconut oil
  • 1/4 Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds Uluva
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves A few

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add onions, green chillies and garlic.
  • Fry well, until golden brown.
  • Add tomato and fry, till the tomato blends well.
  • Add tamarind water and allow it to boil.
  • When it starts to boil, add turmeric powder, chilly powder and coriander powder.
  • When all the ingredients get cooked well and start emiting a nice aroma, add the coconut milk.
  • Allow it to boil for a few more mins.
