Rava Ladoo

Rava Ladoo is prepared from roasted semolina or rava. It is roasting in ghee that enhances the flavor and aroma of the sweet recipe. The dish is super delicious with a slightly crunchy effect of semolina that tastes just great. If you do not prefer crunchy but soft, you can grind the mixture to a soft texture. Kids love the super delicious dish and semolina is very nutritious too. During festive occasions, this is one of the easiest ladoos you can prepare and enjoy. Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Semolina Rava/Sooji
  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar powdered
  • 1 cup Ghee
  • 1 tbsp Broken Cashewnuts fried
  • 1 tbsp Raisins(fried) Onakka munthiri
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder

Instructions
 

  • For preparing the sweet dish, first heat 1 tsp of ghee in a pan.
  • Dry roast the rava till pink in color. Roasting improves the flavor and aroma of the dish.
  • Grind the fried rava and powdered sugar in a mixer to a fine powder. If you want a crunchy feel to the dish do not grind fine but grind roughly.
  • Heat the remaining ghee and add the powdered rava, cashewnuts, raisins and cardamom powder. Mix thoroughly so the whole mixture is well blended.
  • While still warm, make into small lemon-sized balls. If the mixture is very cooled down you will find it difficult to roll out into ladoos.
  • Cool and store the ladoos in an airtight container.
