Ribbon Pakoda

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Gram flour Kadala podi
  • 2 cups Rice flour Ari podi
  • 3 tbsp Chilly powder
  • 2 tbsp Asafoetida powder Kayam
  • 100 gm Butter
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Mix together rice flour, gram flour, chilly powder, asafoetida powder, salt and butter.
  • Take a little of this mixture and add water to it to get a dough like consistency.
  • Heat oil in a kadai or a pan.
  • :- To test if the oil is hot enough, drop a pinch of the dough into it. If it sinks, the oil isn`t hot enough. If the dough springs to the top with bubbles all around it, then the oil is ready.
  • Take some of the dough and pass it through the special ribbon pakoda strainer into the hot oil.
  • Deep fry till Ribbon pakoda turns golden brown.
  • Keep flipping the sides till the ribbon pakoda is done.
  • :- Store Ribbon pakoda in an air tight container.
  • :- Enjoy the Ribbon pakoda.
