Spicy curry - Spicy Fish Gravy

Ingredients
  

  • 750 gm Singhara fish cut into small fillets, boneless
  • 1 no Onion large
  • tsp Onion seeds
  • 6 nos Dry red chillies Kollamulaku
  • 2 tsp Garlic finely chopped
  • 2 nos Tomato chopped
  • 3 tbsp Coconut desiccated
  • Salt As reqd
  • tsp Coriander powder
  • tsp Cumin powder Jeerakam
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • ½ cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Wash and pat dry the fish.
  • Heat oil in a kadai / frying pan and add onions and fry until soft.
  • Add onion seeds, dry red chillies, garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, coconut, salt, coriander, jeera and chilli powders. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add fish pieces and water and cook for 10 minutes until the fish is tender and water evaporates.
  • Mix in lemon juice and add coriander leaves for garnishing.
  • :-Serve hot, accompanied by Jeera pulao.
