Wash and pat dry the fish.
Heat oil in a kadai / frying pan and add onions and fry until soft.
Add onion seeds, dry red chillies, garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add tomatoes, coconut, salt, coriander, jeera and chilli powders. Cook for 10 minutes.
Add fish pieces and water and cook for 10 minutes until the fish is tender and water evaporates.
Mix in lemon juice and add coriander leaves for garnishing.
:-Serve hot, accompanied by Jeera pulao.
