Mathi Nellika Vattichathu is a traditional muslim recipe in malabar region.It is a unique combination dish,Sardines are paired with dried goosberries,pepper and cook with other few ingredients till dry.It is best served with cooked tapioca,chapathi.

Instructions
Clean and wash sardine nicely.
Grind gooseberry,garlic and cumin seed together to make a fine paste.
In a bowl add sardine,chilly powder,turmeric powder,dried goosberry paste,salt,water and mix well.
Heat oil in a clay pot,spluttrr fenugreek seed and add tomato into it,saute for few seconds.
Add the sardine along with masala water.
Add curry leaves and cook the sardine till dry.
Mathi Nellika Vattichathu is ready to serve.
