Kilikoodu

Kilikoodu is an important snack on Ifthar menu.Kilikoodu is a special Malabar snack. Kilikoodu is crispy and crunchy, looks like a Kilikoodu or bird's nest.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 gm Boneless Chicken cut into small pieces
  • 2 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Garlic /ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 4 Green chilli
  • 1 Potato
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Vermicelli
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Cook the cleaned chicken pieces with pepper powder ,salt and shred it and keep it aside.
  • Heat 3tbsp of oil in a pan, add chopped onions, ginger, garlic paste, green chillies, pepper, garam masala powders and saute it well.
  • Add the minced chicken, coriander leaves , salt and mix well.
  • Cook the potato and mash it.Add this to the chicken filling and mix well.
  • Make balls out of this mixture. Dip each balls in beaten egg and roll in Vermicelli.
  • Heat oil in a pan, fry the kilikoodu on medium flame on both sides till it becomes golden brown and crispy.
  • Kilikoodu is ready. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
