Manathakkali Thokku
manathakkali thokku is my favourite dish, i love this spicy tangy thokku with hot white rice topped with a tsp of ghee. This delicious gravy is very simple and is a boon as it has more shelf life.

manathakkali 1 cup small onion 10 no. tomato 1 no. garlic 5 no. tamarind water 1/2 cup sambhar powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp salt to taste oil 4 tsp gingerly oil 2 tsp mustard 1/2 tsp broken urad dal 1/4 tsp cumin seed 1/4 tsp fenugreek seed 1/4 tsp curry leaves 10 no.
chop the onion and garlic
chop the tomato
clean and wash the manathakkali and
heat the both oil in the pan and temper the mustard, broken urad dal, cumin seed and fenugreek seed
Add garlic and manathakkali and saute it for 3 mins
add onion and curry leaves and saute it for 5 mins
add tomato and mix it
add turmeric powder and salt and mix well
add sambhar powder and mix it
add tamarind water, mix well and allow to cook for 5 mins
keep the flame in low and allow to cook until the manathakkali becomes thokku consistency
now manathakkali thokku is ready to serve
