manathakkali thokku is my favourite dish, i love this spicy tangy thokku with hot white rice topped with a tsp of ghee. This delicious gravy is very simple and is a boon as it has more shelf life.

- manathakkali 1 cup -
- Small onion 10 no. -
- Tomato : 1 no -
- Garlic 5 no. -
- tamarind water 1/2 cup -
- sambhar powder 1 tsp -
- Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp -
- Salt to taste -
- Oil : 4 tsp -
- gingerly oil 2 tsp -
- Mustard : 1/2 tsp -
- broken urad dal 1/4 tsp -
- cumin seed 1/4 tsp -
- fenugreek seed 1/4 tsp -
- curry leaves 10 no. -

Instructions
- chop the tomato
- clean and wash the manathakkali and
- heat the both oil in the pan and temper the mustard, broken urad dal, cumin seed and fenugreek seed
- Add garlic and manathakkali and saute it for 3 mins
- add onion and curry leaves and saute it for 5 mins
- add tomato and mix it
- add turmeric powder and salt and mix well
- add sambhar powder and mix it
- keep the flame in low and allow to cook until the manathakkali becomes thokku consistency
- now manathakkali thokku is ready to serve
