chop the onion, garlic and curry leaves
chop the tomato
clean and wash the manathakkali
in a kadai heat the oil and castor oil and temper the mustard, broken urad dal, cumin seed and fenugreek seed
now add manathakkali and garlic and saute it for 3 mins
add onion and curry leaves and saute it for 3 mins
add tomato and mix well
add salt, turmeric and asafoetida and mix it
now add sambar powder and kuzhambu milagai powder and mix it
add tamarind water and allow to cook for 5 mins
now add coconut paste, mix it and allow to cook until it becomes gravy consistency
now manathakkali kuzhambu is ready, serve with rice and vadagam
