Vayakatti (plantain Flower)upperi

This is a healthy naadan upperi and its an excellent source of fiber

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Vayakatti plantain flower
  • Coconut half piece
  • 3 Dry red chilly
  • 2 Green chilly
  • 5 Shallots
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Salt as required
  • Curry leaves as required

Instructions
 

  • Remove the outer skin of plantain flower and cut into small pieces
  • Heat oil in a pan splutter the mustard in it and add dry red chilly.
  • Add plantain flower,turmeric powder and salt.saute it again for 5 minutes.
  • Grind the coconut with shallots,green chilly and curry leaves
  • Add it into the upperi and cook it again for 2 minutes.
  • Serve it with rice
