Pavakkai / Bitter Gourd Stir Fry
The bitter gourd stir fry is a very simple yet delicious dish which can be cooked. bitter gourd stir-fry with steaming hot rice on its own or with any flat bread.

Bitter Gourd / pavakkai 200g onion 1 no. tomato 1 no. red chili powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp salt to taste oil 5 tsp mustard 1/2 tsp broken urad dal 1/4 tsp curry leaves 8 leaves tamarind water 5 tsp
chop the bitter gourd
chop the onion and tomato
in a kadai heat the oil and temper the mustard and broken urad dal
add curry leaves and onion and saute it until the onion turn into brown
add chopped bitter gourd and mix it and allow to cook for 5 minutes in medium flame
add chopped tomato and mix well
now add red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and tamarind water and mix well
allow to cook until the bitter gourd get cooked
now bitter gourd stir fry is ready. serve with rice
