Maize Adai / Makka Cholam Adai

This is an easy and quick adai. This is a different recipe with maize / makka cholam.

Ingredients
  

  • Maize ( Makka cholam ) 2 cup
  • Idly rice 1 cup
  • Urad Dal 1 cup
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • onion 1
  • oil 3 tsp
  • mustard 1/2 tsp
  • broken urad dal 1/4 tsp
  • bengal gram 1/4 tsp
  • curry leaves 5no.
  • coriander leaves 1/4 cup

Instructions
 

  • soak the idly rice and maize / makka cholam for 4 hours
  • soak the urad dal and add with maize and grind as batter and allow to get fermented
  • finely chop the onion
  • in a pan heat the oil and temper the mustard, broken urad dal and bengal gram
  • add chopped onion and saute it until it get brown
  • transfer the onion into maize batter and add turmeric powder, finely chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves
  • mix well
  • heat the dosa tawa and pour and make a shape like dosa
  • once it get cook one side turn it and apply oil
  • now maize / makka cholam adai is ready to serve, serve with tomato chutney and coconut chutney
