Dhalia Uppumavu
It ia a Fibre-rich broken wheat variation of the traditional semolina upma. It is healthy and good for diabetic people.

- Dhaliya (Broken Wheat) .. 2 cups
- ½ cup Chopped Onion
- 1 tspn Chopped Ginger
- 8 – Curry leaves
- 2 tspns Chopped Green Chillies
- ½ cup Grated Coconut
- 1 tspn Mustard Seeds
- Salt To taste
- 3 – Coconut/Refined Oil
- Water As required
Soak the Dhaliya for about 5 minutes
Heat the Oil in a frying pan and add Mustard seeds in it
When the Mustard seeds are bursted, add the chopped Onion, Ginger, Green Chilli and Curry leaves and stir it for 3 – 4 minutes
When the colour of this mix turns into golden, add water and salt and let the water boil
When the water boils well, add the soaked Dhaliya and stir it
After the Dhailya is cooked properly, add grated Coconut and stir it further and change the Uppumav to a serving plate
Dhaliya Uppumav is ready and it can be served with Coconut/Onion Chutney or riped Bananas for break-fast/dinner
