Onion Oothappam - A Variety Dosa

Ingredients
  

  • Rice (pachari) : 1 cup
  • Urad dal (uzhunnu) : ½ cup
  • Carrot : ½ cup
  • Onion : ½ cup
  • Garlic : 1 clove
  • Ginger : 1 inch piece
  • Spring onion : ½ cup
  • Salt : to taste
  • Green chilly : 2 nos
  • Curry leaves : 1 spring
  • Ghee or oil : as needed

Instructions
 

  • Soak rice and urad dal for 2 hours and then grind it using a mixer.
  • Then to this batter add garlic ginger and green chilly and curry leaves.

  • Grind the batter again and add salt as needed.
  • Heat a pan and add ghee or oil in it.
  • Pour the smooth batter to it.
  • Then add the small sliced onion to it and close it for 2 minutes.
  • Then change the side (it is not necessary ).
  • Onion oothappam is ready to serve.
  • Then to the pan pour batter and then pour little of small sliced carrot and little onion.
  • Reduce flame and close it for 2 to 3 minutes or until it gets cooked.
  • Serve hot , this can be taken with sambhar, chutney and without any curry also.
  • Then to the pan pour batter and then sliced spring onion and little onion.
  • Close it for 2 to 3 minutes or until it gets cooked.
  • Serve hot.
