Soak rice and urad dal for 2 hours and then grind it using a mixer.
Then to this batter add garlic ginger and green chilly and curry leaves.

Grind the batter again and add salt as needed.
Heat a pan and add ghee or oil in it.
Pour the smooth batter to it.
Then add the small sliced onion to it and close it for 2 minutes.
Then change the side (it is not necessary ).
Onion oothappam is ready to serve.
Then to the pan pour batter and then pour little of small sliced carrot and little onion.
Reduce flame and close it for 2 to 3 minutes or until it gets cooked.
Serve hot , this can be taken with sambhar, chutney and without any curry also.
