Kadala Curry In Naadan Style

Ingredients
  

  • Gram dal (kadala) : 1 cup
  • Onion : 1 no
  • Ginger : 1 inch piece
  • Curry leaves : 2 spring
  • Garlic : 3 cloves
  • Mustard : 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder : 1 tsp
  • Chilly powder : 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
  • Salt : to taste
  • Water : as needed
  • Oil : 1 tsp

Instructions
 

  • Soak kadala for 5 to 6 hours in water.
  • Then heat a pan add oil in it and when its hot add mustard in to it .
  • When it splutters add onion, garlic and ginger to it.
  • Stir well and then add curry leaves to it.
  • Then add salt ,coriander powder and stir for 2 minutes .
  • Then add chilly powder, turmeric powder and stir well.
  • Then add the soaked gram dal to it and stir well add 1 cup water or as needed.
  • Then close the pan or pressure cooker until it gets cooked.
  • When it gets cooked transfer to the serving dish.
  • For cooking it will take only 15 minutes if its in a pressure cooker.
