Ingredients
- Gram dal (kadala) : 1 cup -
- Onion : 1 no -
- Ginger : 1 inch piece -
- Curry leaves : 2 spring -
- Garlic : 3 cloves -
- Mustard : 2 tsp -
- Coriander powder : 1 tsp -
- Chilly powder : 2 tsp -
- Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp -
- Salt to taste -
- Water :as needed -
- Oil : 1 tsp -

Instructions
- Soak kadala for 5 to 6 hours in water.
- Then heat a pan add oil in it and when its hot add mustard in to it .
- Stir well and then add curry leaves to it.
- Then add salt ,coriander powder and stir for 2 minutes .
- Then add chilly powder, turmeric powder and stir well.
- Then add the soaked gram dal to it and stir well add 1 cup water or as needed.
- Then close the pan or pressure cooker until it gets cooked.
- When it gets cooked transfer to the serving dish.
- For cooking it will take only 15 minutes if its in a pressure cooker.
