Grated bottle gourd : 1 cup
Sugar : 3 tsp
Milk : 3 cup
Cardamom powder : ¼ tsp

Chopped cashew nuts & raisins : 2
Instructions
Peel bottlegourd, cut into half, remove seeds, wash and then grate. Place in a strainer toremove excess water.
Bringthe milk to boil in a heavy bottom pan. Reduce for 20 minutes on low flame stirring
occasionally.
Squeezeout excess water from the lauki ( bottle gourd) and add to the reduced / thickened milk.
Cookthe lauki ( bottle gourd) in the milk for approximately 20 minutes or till cooked.
Addthe sugar and cook for 2-3 more minutes.
Addthe chopped cashew nuts and raisins and cardamom powder. (You can also addalmonds and pistachios).
Lauki kheercan be served hot or cold.
