Take ragi flour, required salt and oil in a wide bowl.
Heat water to a boil. Pour hot water over the ragi flour and mix well. Cover the bowl with a lid and let it sit for 15 mins.
After 15 mins, form into a soft dough.
Heat a idli steamer and add little grated coconut in it.
Now take your string hopper maker and fill it with the dough. Spin the string maker so that you will get the dough as threads falling over it. Steam for 8 to 10 mins.
Remove and serve Ragi Idiyappam with your favorite curry.
