For preparing the delicious Thakkali Chutney Recipe - Nadan Kerala Style, first heat oil in a heavy bottomed vessel or in a clay pot. Splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds. Add crushed garlic cloves, ginger and curry leaves. Saute for 10-15 seconds on low flame.
Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies. Cover and cook for 7-8 minutes in medium flame.
Pour tamarind water and cook the tomatoes till it appears slightly mashed.
Then add red chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt. Combine well and cook till 75% of water evaporates. Turn off heat and cool.
