Cabbage Parippu Thoran | Cabbage with Lentils

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Small Cabbage
  • ¼ Cup Masoor dhal /Toor dhal
  • 2 Nos. Green chillies
  • 5 Nos. Small onion
  • Curry leaves
  • ½ Tsp Turmeric powder
  • ¼ Cup Grated coconut
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut oil
  • ½ Tsp Mustard Seeds
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Cook dhal by adding a pinch of turmeric powder and salt in enough water.
  • Take a blender and crush shallots, green chilly and curry leaves.
  • Add it into the thinly sliced cabbage. Add grated coconut also.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt as required. Mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds and add some curry leaves.
  • Add the cabbage mix and combine well. Cover and cook for 6-7 minutes on medium flame. Stir occasionally.
  • When the cabbage is well cooked, add the cooked dhal .
  • Combine well and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from the flame.
  • Serve along with steamed rice. Enjoy!
