Cook the vellarikka in enough water by adding turmeric powder, green chilly and salt as required.
Grind grated coconut in little water by adding cumin seeds, green chilly and turmeric powder. Grind it to make a smooth paste.
Add cooked vellarikka and ground coconut into a pan or clay pot.
Add little more water to get the correct consistency, do not add too much water, because we have to add beated curd finally. Bring it to boil and turn off the flame.
Add beated curd and mix well. Do not boil the curry after adding butter milk.
Here comes the final step, heat oil in a tadka, splutter mustard seeds and add chopped shallots. When the shallots turn light brown in color, add kondattam mulaku, dried red chilly and curry leaves. Fry it for few seconds and remove from flame.
Pour it over the curry.
Tasty Kondattam Moru Curry is ready now. Serve along with steamed rice.
