Wheat Idiyappam | Gothambu Idiyappam | Wheat String Hoppers

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Wheat flour
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Cup Grated coconut
  • Hot water as required
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast the wheat flour on medium flame for one minute.
  • Transfer to a bowl and add salt as required.
  • Heat water to a boil. Pour hot water over it.
  • Mix well. Once it starts to come together, cover the bowl with a lid and let it sit for 15 mins.
  • After 15 mins, add a teaspoon of oil and mix with hand into a soft dough.
  • Now take your string hopper maker and fill it with the dough. Take banana leaves add some grated coconut.
  • Spin the string maker so that you will get the dough as threads over it.
  • Steam it for 8 to10 minutes.
  • Remove and serve along with veg or non veg curries.
