Spinach Koottu
Easy method--Can be mixed with white rice or rotis

Ingredients

Green gram
Cheruparippu/Moong dal

Oz
Baby
spinach
340 gm, or normal
spinach
3
tsp
Cumin seeds
Jeerakam
6
tsp
Grated
coconut
1
tsp
Pepper
4
nos
Green chillies
or less if u want it less spicy
1
tsp
Salt
Asafoetida
A pinch, Kayam
For seasoning:-
2
nos
Dry
red chillies
Kollamulaku
1
tsp
Mustard seeds
1
tsp
Cooking
oil
Instructions
Boil moong dal and
spinach
in the cooker and allow 2 whistles.
:- It can be put in the same vessel.
Grind the
green chillies
, pepper, grated
coconut
and
cumin seeds
.
Pour 2 tsp of cooking
oil
in a wide mouthed vessel (kadai).
Splutter
mustard seeds
and saute dry
red chillies
.
Add the cooked dal-
spinach
mixture and put
salt
and the above paste.
Let it cook for 5 mins, stirring in regular intervals.
Add asafoetida.
Enjoy !!!!
