- Squid/koonthal - 1/2 kg
- Onion - 2
- Tomato - 1 large
- Green chilly - 4
- Fennel seed - 1/2 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 3 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves(little) -
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste -

- Clean the squid and cut into ring shapes.
- Marinate the squid in red chilly powder,turmeric powder,crushed fennel seed,,salt and rest for 20 minutes.
- Add ginger garlic paste,tomato,green chilly,curry leaves and saute again until the tomatoes get soft.
- Add fried squid and sprinkle some garam masala.mix it well and remove from the flame.
- Tasty and spicy koonthal masala is ready now.
