Dahi Baingan Curry

Dahi Baingan can be eaten by itself, with plain, fragrant boiled rice and even with Chapatis. it gives good taste and flavor of this recipe is too good.

  • Dahi 1/2 cup
  • Egg plant 1 no. ( large)
  • onion 1 no.
  • tomato 1 no.
  • oil 5 tsp
  • cumin seed 1/5 tsp
  • fennel seed 1/5 tsp
  • mustard 1/2 tsp
  • broken urad dal 1/5 tsp
  • lemon 1/2 no.
  • red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste


  • roast the egg plant directly to the flame
  • in the same way roast the onion and tomato too individualy
  • add the roasted egg plant, tomato and onion in a bowl and smash it and add lemon juice and mix it
  • heat the oil in a pan and temper the mustard, broken urad dal, fennel seed and cumin seed
  • add the smashed egg plant and mix well
  • add curd mix it
  • salt and red chili powder and mix well
  • allow to cook for 2 mins in low flame
  • Dahi baingan curry is ready
