Garlic Murukku

One of their famous and tasty murukku variety is garlic murukku. This Murukku is very flavorful and full of garlic aroma. If you are a person who loves garlic flavor very much as we do then this one is definitely for you. Today's recipe is simple and easy to make savory snack that can be made for the upcoming festival, Diwali.

  • 15 nos Garlic
  • 6 nos. Red chili
  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/2 cup Besan Flour
  • As reqd Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp Poppy seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame seed
  • 1 tsp Butter
  • Oil For deep frying


  • Peel the garlic and take dry red chilies.
  • Make a fine paste by adding little water.
  • In a bowl add rice flour, besan flour, garlic red chilli paste, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, asafoetida, salt and butter.
  • Add little water and make a soft and smooth dough.
  • Stuff the mixture in murukku mould.
  • Heat oil in the pan and press the stuffed murukku mould directly into the oil. Fry the Garlic Murukku for 2 minutes till golden brown in color.
  • Now Garlic Murukku is ready. Enjoy the lip smacking Diwali snack.
