Kerala Style Naaranga Curry is a traditional styled lemon pickle usually served for Sadhya dishes. Spicy and tangy flavored Kerala Style Naaranga Curry is the simplest of lemon pickle preparations with minimum ingredients. The dish is unique and tasty and the pickle tastes best when used fresh. Moderately sour and juicy lemons are opted for the dish. The pickle does not use oil so storage is not advised. Pickles are eaten as a side dish with rice and aids digestion when consumed in moderate amounts. Lime pickles are a must for biriyani dishes. A typical meal in Indian Cuisine consists of a pickle and limes pickles are the favorite among them. Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Lime Vadukapuliyan Naaranga
  • or
  • 8 nos Small Lemon Cherunaaranga
  • 25 g Green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek powder Uluva
  • 5 g Asafoetida powder Kayam
  • 25 g Chilly powder
  • 4 sprigs Curry leaves
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing the delicious pickle, first chop lemon/lime into fine pieces.
  • Add salt, chilly powder and asafoetida powder to the finely chopped lime and mix well.
  • Add curry leaves and mix well again.
  • Cover and keep the pickle for sometime and use.
