Mushroom dish - Kerala style

Ingredients
- Mushroom(finely chopped) - 500 gm
- Onion(finely chopped, large) - 1 no
- Garlic pods(crushed) - 3 nos
- Green chillies(finely chopped) - 3 nos
- Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin powder(optional, Jeerakam) - 1/4 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves(A few) -
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- Heat oil in pan.
- Add mustard seeds and when they crackle, add curry leaves.
- Add onion and saute, till it starts to change colour.
- Add the chopped mushroom, garlic and green chillies along with salt.
- Handmix grated coconut with coriander powder, cumin powder and a little water [to soften].
- Add this to the cooked mushroom.
- Cover and cook for some more time.
- :- Serve hot with rice.

We both liked the recipe very much. The paste of coconut, jeera powder and coriander powder gives the taste to the recipe. We are thinking of using this paste for other curries too. We also added black pepper to the mushroom curry. It adds flavor!
I had tried cooking mushroom in so many ways. But this was the best recipe I have ever found for mushroom. My husband loves it and when I cooked it for a party it was gone in seconds !! Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe..
