Oats Coconut Pathiri is a delightful variation from the traditional ‘Thenga Pathiri’ prepared with coconut and rice flour. Thenga Pathiri is a thin and soft textured flatbread usually served with curry dishes. For preparing Oats Thenga Pathiri, you use powdered oats instead of rice flour. You can also add some spicy flavorings to add to the richness of the dish and to enhance the flavoring, which I have not done here. This is optional and here I have provided a basic oats dish. I am adding some vital points here that might be useful for you. Be careful while adding water and do not make it watery. It should be a well manageable sticky dough that can be easily rolled out in a pathiri pressing pan. Those who are bored of the usual rice flour pathiris can try Oats Thenga Pathiri that grants a distinct flavor. This is a variety dish and believe me I required no side dish with this. Oats Coconut Pathiri | Oats Thenga Pathiri

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Oats powdered
  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  • Water
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for greasing

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl add oats powder, grated coconut and salt as required.
  • Add little by little water to make a sticky dough.
  • Divide the dough into small balls. Take a pathiri pressing pan, apply little oil and press into pathiri rounds. Cook the Oats Coconut Pathiri on one side till cooked and flip over the other side also till done. You can apply some oil too while cooking.
  • Oats Thenga Pathiri is ready now.
