Ragi Dosa | Finger Millet Dosa

A

Ragi Dosa is a delicious crepe prepared with finger millet also termed as red millet. These fiber and iron rich dosas can be easily prepared at home provided the cooking tawa is really hot. But remember to lower the heat once the dosas turn crispy. For those who are tired of the usual dosa dishes, this is a good variation with its crispy texture. Finger Millet Dosa aids weight loss and that’s why you would have observed the dish on the trending list. I love this Ragi Dosa for one reason- no soaking, grinding, fermenting required. You got to have ragi powder in hand. That saves me lot of burdensome activities. This is an instant dosa dish and all working house wives will find the dish quite useful. Serve Finger Millet Dosa with any curry dish of your choice. You can try the dish at home and do send me feedback so that I will be well motivated to post more healthy time saving dishes.

I was introduced to Ragi Dosa at my friends place. We were on a trip of sight seeing and had no time to cook breakfast. Our kids planned to buy food from outside. We saw our friend disappearing into kitchen and within seconds a special aroma seemed to be wafting into the rooms. I couldn’t distinguish the flavor. It was Ragi Dosa turning brown and crispy on the hot tawa. She had a vegetable curry in store and within seconds our kids were relishing the dosas in enjoyment. I couldn’t believe how fast this instant dosa was being served. One vital point to note, serve Finger Millet Dosa hot and fresh. It makes a lot of difference. Ragi is rich in dietary fiber which helps in controlling the ‘bad’ cholesterol which contributes to heart diseases like atherosclerosis. You can explore a well detailed Ragi Dosa recipe here.
