Ridge Gourd Teekha Masala

Ridge gourd teekha masala is fried and cooked in lots of spices . It tastes awesome with Rice and rotis. First we need to dry roast moong dal and grind the rest of ingredients to a fine paste. This special ground paste brings a fantastic aroma to the gravy. Ridge gourd teekha masala is a very thick gravy with soft cooked ridge gourd pieces and it best suits as a side dish for rice as well as tiffen items.

  • ridge gourd 2
  • moong dal 2 sp
  • tomato 1
  • onion 1
  • garlic 3 pods
  • jeera 1 sp
  • pepper 1 sp
  • green chili 1
  • mustard 1sp
  • cumin seed 1/2 sp
  • turmeric 1/4 sp
  • red chili 1


  • dry roast moong dal
  • in a mixer put together pepper, jeera, garlic, green chili,
  • to this add onion and tomato and grind together.
  • cut ridge gourd in round shapes.
  • heat oil in a pan add mustard, jeera, red chiili,
  • add ridge gourd and pour the ground masala with salt.
  • cook till the gravy turns thick and serve.
