- Rice - 1 tsp
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Snake gourd - 2
- Coconut grated - 1/2 cup
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Onion - 1
- Green chilly - 4
- Coconut oil - 1 tsp
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Salt(to taste) -

Instructions
- Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds,when it splutters add rice and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add curry leaves and saute for a minute.
- Then add washed and chopped snake gourd into this and saute for a minute.
- Grind coconut,cumin seeds,green chilly,chili powder and onion in a mixer.
- Add this ground mix to snake gourd and saute for a minute.
- Close the kadai with lid and cook for 5 minutes.
- When it is cooked and water dries up we can switch off stove.
- Now traditional padavalanga thoran is ready.
