- Chicken - 1 kg
- Basmati rice - 1 kg
- Mint leaves - 3 handfuls
- Coriander leaves - 2 handfuls
- Green chilly - 10 nos
- Curd - 2 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Lime juice - 3 tsp
- Onion - 3 nos
- Onion(cut in roundels) - 3 nos
- Food colour(Lemon colour or Pista) -

Instructions
- For preparing Green Masala Chicken Biriyani, first grind the coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chillies with salt. Make sure the green masala is not over ground.
- Marinate chicken pieces with the masala paste, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, chilli powder, salt, curd, turmeric powder, garam masala and 1 tbsp of oil. Keep chicken aside.
- Wash the rice and soak it in water for 1/2 an hour.
- Add onion cut in roundels and fry till they turn light dark brown and remove it to a bowl.
- Add the marinated chicken pieces with the onion and stir for 3 minutes. Cover with lid.
- :- Avoid adding additional water.
- Allow to cook in low flame.
- Take a wide deep vessel.
- Put some oil and spread it all over the vessel.
- Add half of the cooked rice into the vessel and spread half of the cooked chicken layer upon it.
- Add light brown round shaped onions.
- Add some ghee and food colour mixed with lime juice over the rice. Repeat adding next layer of cooked rice on top.
- Cover with the lid and keep weight on the lid. Keep on a low flame for 10 minutes.
- :- Serve Green Masala Chicken Biriyani hot with raitha or curry.
