Ingredients
- Kadala(soaked for 6 hrs) - 1½ cups
- Onion - 1 no
- Green chillies - 2 nos
- Curry leaves(A few) -
- Pepper powder -
- Coriander powder -
- Turmeric powder -
- Garam masala -
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Chilli powder -
- Mustard seeds -
- Dry red chillies -
- Oil(As reqd) -
- Water(As reqd) -

Instructions
- Put the sliced onion, kadala, salt, green chilly, curry leaves, pepper powder and water in a cooker and cook until the kadala is done.
- Take 2 tbsp of kadala and grind it in a mixer grinder.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Splutter mustard seeds and saute dry chillies.
- Add masala powders and saute till the raw smell goes.
- Add this to the curry along with the kadala paste (gives thickness to gravy) and boil till the gravy is reduced.
